Lippold Park is a 310-acre mixed-use park. It features hiking trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, baseball/softball fields, a skate park, Hound Town Dog Park, sand volleyball courts, and more.

1. Baseball/Softball Fields

If you love baseball and softball, Lippold Park is the place to go. It is home to eight baseball fields and four softball fields with entire infields of synthetic turf.

Additionally, Lippold Park offers several miles of recreational walking trails including 60 acres of natural landscape largely made up of ponds and wetlands. It also has a skate park, practice batting cages, an outdoor fitness area, and concession stands.

This 310-acre mixed-use park has something for everyone. It is a hub of the Crystal Lake Park District and is host to countless activities on a daily basis. Moreover, it is an excellent venue to spend a day with family and friends.

2. Skate Park

The Skate Park at Lippold Park is the perfect place for a family to spend an afternoon having fun. It is also an excellent venue for those who want to get their exercise on.

The Lippold Park has eight baseball fields, an 18-hole disc golf course, four softball fields, infields of synthetic turf for soccer and football, sand volleyball courts, and a skate park. All of these facilities are perfect for those who want to get their workout on, and the park is also close to Crystal Lake’s downtown area.

The park is also near the Crystal Lake Park District Nature Center, where you can enjoy exhibits, a butterfly house, beehives, and a fossil collection. Plus, Veteran Acres Park is within walking distance of cafes, restaurants, and shops. More places to also visit by clicking here.

3. Miniature Golf Course

If you’re a fan of miniature golf, the Lippold Park Crystal Lake IL course will not disappoint. The 18-hole course has been in operation since 1997 and serves golfers of all ages and abilities.

Located in the Crystal Lake Park District, this facility is open from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

It is a great place to improve your game and get your family involved in a fun activity together. The facility includes 40 lighted tee areas, a 60,000-square-foot putting green, sand traps, a pitching green, a fairway practice bunker, and two 18-hole miniature golf courses. The clubhouse, party room, and concessions are also available at the facility.

4. Fishing Piers

Crystal Lake IL is a town with a fun and safe environment for families. It offers excellent public schools, lots of extracurricular activities, and a great downtown area with restaurants and stores.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Lippold Park is the place to go for a day of recreation. It has 310 acres of designated spaces for a variety of sports such as eight baseball fields, four softball fields with artificial infield turf, nine irrigated soccer fields, and three football fields.

It also has a skate park, batting cages, sand volleyball courts, and a dog park. In addition, it offers walking trails and wetlands as well as a pond.

5. Picnic Shelters

Lippold Park is the largest park in the Crystal Lake Park District and is home to 35 sports fields, a Family Golf Center, ponds, wetlands, nearly five miles of hiking and biking trails, and other amenities. Over 30,000 athletes, residents, and spectators have enjoyed the facilities at Lippold Park this past year alone.

A large picnic shelter at Lippold Park can accommodate up to 200 people and features a stone fireplace, heated restrooms, drinking water, electricity, and a picnic area with grills. This is a great venue for graduation parties, family reunions, employee appreciation days, fundraisers, or school picnics. Picnic reservations can be made online or in person.
